PanganNews.id, Bandung – In commemoration of the 24th anniversary of the Bandung City Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP), various social activities were carried out at the Bandung City PKK Office on December 1, 2023.

One of the activities held is the Cheap Food Movement (GPM), where the Bandung City Government seeks to ensure the stability of food supplies and prices. This activity includes the distribution of free vegetable seeds, such as cayenne pepper, eggplant, fish, and chicks, as well as a bazaar of basic necessities and suitable clothing.

"We are doing this activity to increase empathy and concern for those in need, because of its social nature," said the Head of DWP Bandung City, Cici Ema Sumarna.

Cici also explained that this activity aims to stabilize food prices to make them more affordable. Collaboration with DKPP is carried out to realize this movement in maintaining the stability of food prices that are more affordable compared to market prices.

Head of the Bandung City Food and Agriculture Security Agency, Gin Gin Ginanjar, emphasized that GPM was implemented to maintain food price stability amidst the ongoing price increases. They are working together with DWP as an effort by the Bandung City Government in food supply and price stability.

Gin Gin added that in this GPM, they involve distributors and farmers to transact directly with the community, with the aim of maintaining price stability.

In addition, the cheap food movement and other activities aim to control regional inflation, ensuring that people can easily get basic necessities at affordable prices. One real example is the price subsidy for eggs from Rp27,000 in the market to Rp25,000 in GPM, with guaranteed quality because it comes directly from distributors and farmers.

Gin Gin also conveyed the preparation of providing 4 tons of rice, with plans to implement GPM activities 2 to 3 times in December, in collaboration with the province, Bapanas, and BI.
