KOMPAS.com — The Bandung City Food Security and Agriculture Service (DKPP) held a Proper, Diverse, Balanced, and Safe Eating Festival (MABAR B2SA) at Yonzipur 9 LLB Field, Pakemitan, Cinambo, Bandung City, Sunday (10/27/2024).

The Bandung City DKPP involved the Student Association (HIMA) of the Nutrition Department of the Bandung Health Polytechnic (Poltekkes), Food Technology Students of Pasundan University, and the Combat Engineer Battalion (Yonzipur) 9 Lang Lang Bhuwana (LLB) to collaborate in making the festival a success.

The festival was held to commemorate the 79th anniversary of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) which falls on Saturday (5/10/2024) and the 44th World Food Day with the theme "Right To Foods For a Better Life And a Better Future" which falls on Wednesday (16/10/2024).

The MABAR B2SA Festival was held to increase public knowledge and awareness regarding healthy food consumption patterns MABAR B2SA and to improve the quality and diversity of community food consumption to prevent stunting in the city of Bandung.

The series of festivals opened with morning exercise followed by socialization of proper eating in the form of a cabaret in collaboration with students of State Senior High School (SMA) 10 Bandung.

In addition, the festival is also equipped with various competitions that can be participated by the public, such as coloring competitions, fashion show competitions, baby dance competitions, and B2SA menu cooking competitions with two sessions for the Buruan SAE group and the general public.

Not only that, various public services were also present at the festival, starting from free health promotion and education from the Health Service (Dinkes), Digital Population Identity Services (IKD) from the Population and Civil Registry Service (Disdukcapil), as well as family, women, and children counseling from the Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Service (DP3A).

There is also a Mobile Driving License (SIM) from the Bandung City Police (Polrestabes), a Mobile One-Stop Integrated Administration System (Samsat) from the Bandung Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda), and a mobile library from the Bandung Library and Archives Service (Dispersip).

In addition, the distribution of free plant seeds, fish, and chickens from the Bandung City DKPP and the Cheap Food Movement with 54 tenants from food commodities and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) also further complemented the B2SA MABAR Festival.

The festival involves young generations from various age groups, ranging from Elementary School (SD), Junior High School (SMP), High School, to College Students in Bandung City. They are involved in the festival as committee members, event presenters, and participants consisting of 1,000 junior high school students from 12 junior high schools in Bandung City.

The twelve junior high schools consist of Junior High School 8, Junior High School 17, Junior High School 50, Junior High School 53, Junior High School 46, Junior High School Al-Hadi, Junior High School LLB 2, Junior High School Inteligensia, Junior High School of the Indonesian Teachers Association (PGRI) 10, Junior High School Karya Pembangunan (KP) 10, Junior High School Guna Dharma, and Junior High School Triyasa, Bandung City.

Meanwhile, student performances on the main stage included gamelan performances by 20 students of SDN 149 Cigadung, jaipong dance performances by the Indonesian National Police (Polri) Ambassadors, creative dances by SMP Guna Dharma, gastronomy demonstrations and Bar Mobile Juggling Team (BMJT) performances by Telkom Tourism Vocational School (SMK), and singing performances by students of SMP Negeri 23 Bandung.

The MABAR B2SA Festival was also attended by Acting Mayor Ir A Koswara MP, Head of DKPP Ir Gin Gin Ginanjar M Eng, Commander of Yonzipur 9 LLB Lieutenant Colonel (Letkol) Czi Nanang Sujarwanto SE, Deputy for Food and Nutritional Vulnerability Dr Drs Nyoto Suwignyo MM, Chairman of the Bandung City Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) Asep Mulyadi SH, and Head of the Nutrition Department of Bandung Polytechnic of Health Yenny Moviana MND.

During the festival, a joint agreement was also signed for the socialization of food and mobile nutrition counseling (SIPANGLING) between the DKKP and Poltekkes Kota Bandung, represented by Ginanjar and Yenny.

At the end of the festival, the winners of the poster and educational video competitions were announced. There was also a door prize distribution with the main prizes of an electric bicycle, refrigerator and microwave from Rolas Pangan Nusantara also enlivened the closing of the festival.

The 2024 B2SA Mabar Festival can be held with the support of various parties, starting from Bank Indonesia, the West Java and Banten Regional Development Bank (BJB) Bandung branch, Rolas Pangan Nusantara, Maxim, Dua Kelinci, Kin Yoghurt, Sunpride, CV Sinar Baru, Inaco, OMG, Wings, Teh Dandang, Milku, Wardah, CV Maju Mapan Banyumas, Vitalia, PT Delisari Nusantara, Iviez Advertising, to Kalbe Nutritionals which consists of Morinaga Chilgo, Milna, Hydro Coco Prenalova, and Diabetasol.

Meanwhile, media partners collaborating in the festival are, Humas Bandung and Radio Sonata from the Communication, Informatics, and Statistics Service (Diskominfo), Halo Bandung from the Protocol and Leadership Communication Section (Prokopim) of Bandung City, Television of the Republic of Indonesia (TVRI) West Java, and Kompas.com.

With all the series of events at the festival, it is hoped that the community can implement B2SA consumption habits by utilizing and processing food according to local potential.

The festival is also expected to create healthy, active and productive human resources (HR) by implementing balanced nutritional guidelines for daily eating patterns and behavior.
